Never oficially imported to the US, these GP-inspired 2-stroke bikes are always in-demand…especially if they come with coveted “how did you do that?” current California registration.
Seller reports that this example does have over 27k miles (45k km) on the clock, but says they just rebuilt 1st over top end with swain coated pistons and boyesen reeds.
The bike ahs been furhter updated with Fox rear shocks, an 02 yzf600r front end amd fzr600 rear wheel — updates that probably make it a little less of a handful in the twisties.
Owner says they’ve had it since 1995, and that it will come with all the original parts, plus a factory wheel stand, shop manual, and (maybe best of all) current California registration.
Asking price is on the high end at $14k, but it is follower by that “OBO,” so if you’ve been looking for an example of this bike that you wouldnt feel terrible riding on the regular. Bike is located in San Jose/Hayward area. See the listing on Craigslist.
