Not much info here, but those who visit often know we have a soft spot for this model Honda.
Listed on Craigslist in Venice, CA, is this tidy little beach ripper CL350 that’s had a good-looking, if homebrew custom job done on it.
Description is sparse, but the pictures show a new rear seat loop, seat, engine paint, white tank and headlight, aftermarket headlight guard and what look like red-anodized wheels (though that could be paint as well). The stock airbox is gone, and it looks like he electronics have been hidden up under the seat in cafe/street scrambler style.
We’re a little concerned that the seller doesn’t mention any of the standard reliability-enhancing upgrades like electronic ignition etc etc, which makes us a little more leery of the provenance. No one wants to discover that their new toy is a 27-owner bike. BUT, in the words of a dear friend of ours… “It’s a machine, it CAN be fixed.”
Seller states that it starts and runs well, though needs a carb balance done. If that’s all, we say go for it. We think this one should head directly to a credible mechanic to be thoroughly checked out, but then should be fitted with a surfboard rack and pointed directly at Baja.
Oh yeah, and no word on title, though a Michigan plate and a Venice Craigslist post aren’t an ideal start.
