Offered on Craigslist in North LA is a tidy little Honda Reflex 200 that is looking for a new owner.
For the un-initiated, the Reflex was a short-lived model build up in the style of a Trials bike, with svelte lines, small tank, and VERY nimble handling.
The Reflex was build and sold street legal, but was easily modified into a competitive Trials bike with some re-gearing and removal of the street lighting. In this case, the seller has kept everything stock, including some super fun late 70s-looking team Honda livery.
We’ve build and loved small displacement motorcycles, and we think they are the IDeAL way to commute in crowded cities and over uneven pavement (see-also Brooklyn). These bikes are torquey at low speeds, tons of fun from 0-to-45mph, and carve up traffic nicely.
There aren’t many parts that go into one of these, and the seller claims to have replaces just about anything that COULD go bad. Theres a new carb, tires and tubes, exhaust, handlebars. and grips. Seller claims the bike has less than 5000 original miles, which is believable given the shape this is in and that its unlikely anyone would ride a bike like this any great distance.
Dont think about it too hard – if you need a machine to zip you to the beach, or to carry you quickly through a 15 minute urban commute, this will look and feel great doing it.
Seller is asking $1700, including a clean CA title and bonus California blue plate.
